MG5
The MG5 is a compact car from MG-Motor with a 156 hp electric motor. The car has a 61.1 kWh battery, giving it a range of around 410 km. Another version with a 177 hp engine and another battery option will be available soon. Of course, the British manufacturer’s vehicle also offers a lot in terms of safety. For example, the cars in the Sixt fleet have a rearview camera, parking assist, emergency braking assist, lane departure warning, and six airbags. The infotainment system is generously equipped with an over 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker system. Of course, there’s still quite a bit of additional optional equipment built into the MG5. For instance, the car comes with leather seats, a panoramic roof, keyless entry, and a navigation system. The MG5 offers solid performance and good features at an affordable price, making it the perfect vehicle for those looking for an everyday electric car.
Opel Mokka-e
The Mokka-e is a fully electric car from automaker Opel. The car is powered by a 136 hp electric motor and a 50 kWh battery. This even allows a range of up to 324 km per charge. The Mokka-e features a fast-charging system that can charge the battery to 80% in just 30 minutes. Inside, the Opel offers a modern and stylish interior. The workmanship and the used materials appear to be of extremely high quality. There is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as automatic climate control and a variety of driver assistance systems. Among other things, there is a lane departure warning system, an emergency braking system, and a traffic sign recognition system that displays the speed limit. Often there are even more extras in the Sixt fleet, such as a head-up display, a heated steering wheel and keyless entry. The driving behavior of the Opel Mokka-e can completely convince us with an agile and sporty nature. The electric motor provides quick acceleration and an extremely smooth ride. The steering handling is precise and responsive without being spongy in any way. Incidentally, the Opel has very comfortable seats that make the car suitable for long journeys.
Peugeot 2008
The Peugeot 2008 is a real gem among compact SUVs. It is a real eye-catcher on the road, because the design is modern, powerful and elegant at the same time. Of course, the Frenchman also impresses with excellent equipment in the Sixt fleet, so this one has a lot to offer. In the interior, the 3D i-Cockpit is scaffolded. This includes, for example, a 10-inch HD touchscreen that provides the driver with all important information. Of course, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also offered, so you can pair your phone with the car. Of course, voice control or real-time navigation from the map provider TomTom is not missing. The Peugeot’s drive is purely electric and a range of up to 342 km is possible with one battery charge. This makes the compact SUV particularly suitable for short distances and city traffic.
Hyundai Kona
The Kona’s striking exterior gives the vehicle an unmistakable character. A wide front, narrow LED headlights and a modern exterior design make the Hyundai a real eye-catcher on the road.
The electric SUV often has a 204 hp electric motor and thus achieves a range of just under 490 km. Of course, a fast charging function is also supported so that the installed lithium-ion polymer battery can be charged to around 80% in under 50 minutes. Thanks to the powerful e-drive, the Kona accelerates to 62 mph in just 7.9 seconds and achieves a top speed of 103 mph.
Inside, the Kona can impress us with its modern and high-quality equipment. The entertainment system features a 10.25-inch touchscreen and offers a razor-sharp resolution of all displays. Of course, automatic climate control and a host of driver assistance systems are also included as standard. This ensures a high level of driving comfort for all occupants. This is underlined by an extremely comfortable suspension that does a very good job on all road surfaces.
The car has a 332-liter trunk capacity according to the manufacturer. If that is not enough, the rear seats can still be folded down so that larger items can also be stowed.
BMW i3
Of course, the BMW i3 must not be missing in the Sixt CCAE fleet. The car was one of the first electric vehicles to hit the market. The design of the i3 is distinctive and modern. With its iconic look and eye-catching two-tone paint job, the vehicle is a real eye-catcher on the road.
Under the hood of the i3 is a powerful electric motor that delivers 170 hp of power and 250 Nm of maximum torque. The lithium-ion battery enables a range of up to 152 miles per charge, which is sufficient for most daily trips.
In terms of handling, we were particularly impressed by the agility and maneuverability. The steering is extremely precise and responsive, while the suspension delivers a high level of comfort even on bad road surfaces.
As usual, the interior of the Munich is clearly arranged. In the center is a screen with all the relevant information. The conventional iDrive button, as well as other buttons and knobs, are used for operation.
The BMW also offers its occupants a very good spacious feeling, especially for very tall people. Unfortunately, the space in the rear and in the trunk is not quite as generous.
